WAGRev announces new editorial
Since its founding in 2006, WAGRev has published more
than 100 reviews
of new books on China-related women and gender studies published in
either Chinese or English. Under the able and careful editorship of
Nicola Spakowski, with meticulous English-language proofreading by
Julia Stone, it has provided an important service to this field, and
provided a platform for scholarly exchange around these themes.
The WAGNet Steering Committee would like to announce the
WAGRev editorship to a new team, Xin Huang, Women’s and Gender Studies,
University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and Sophia Woodman, School of Social
and Political Science, University of Edinburgh.
Message from the new editors:
If you are a publisher promoting a new book on our
themes, please get
in touch. If you are an author with a new book to promote, let us know.
If you would like to review a book we have not yet reviewed, write to
We plan to continue the wonderful tradition of
detailed reviewing Nicola has established. We welcome ideas for new
features for WAGRev, such as review essays. We also hope to establish a
‘books published’ page soon to provide an ongoing list of new
publications on women and gender in Chinese studies.
